There are three hotels that run along the Magic Kingdom Monorail which are Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. The Lagoon provides access to the main entrance from the Transportation and Ticket Center (and parking area) the world famous Monorail or via the Magic Kingdom ferry.
The park is built directly behind to the Seven Seas Lagoon which is a man made lake that was dug to provide fill for the parks original construction. This 107-acre park is the most visited theme park in the world hosting more than 10 million guests each year which is over 2 million more than its sister park, Disneyland in California. Originally opened in 1971, the Magic Kingdom Park is the first of Disney’s major theme parks in Orlando and the theme park that started in all in central Florida.
